When it comes to this year’s Word on the Street stories, The Batman Part II is one of the upcoming movies covered the most. What started as Sebastian Stan joining the film’s cast turned into a follow-up story about which villain he could really be portraying, followed by another follow-up story about The Batman Part II receiving a new release date. Now, there will be a third follow-up Word on the Street story about The Batman Part II. But this time, it’s about the movie’s production. In a recent article from Deadline, Justin Kroll and Anthony D’Alessandro report how Matt Reeves, the director of The Batman Part II, is taking a break from working on the film due to “personal reasons” related to “a family matter”. According to Anthony’s and Justin’s article, the studios behind the project, DC Studios and Warner Bros., are aware of this development. Their official statement acknowledges how DC Studios gave Matt their “full support” and clarifies how The Batman Part II’s production is “temporarily paused”. Justin’s and Anthony’s article also addresses how “it is too early to say whether the stoppage will have an effect on the release date”, which is still scheduled for February 18th, 2028. When I heard about this latest news, I knew I had to talk about it, especially since I’ve been covering movie news related to The Batman Part II since May. I also wanted to provide my readers, including those looking forward to seeing The Batman Part II, with the most accurate information about this upcoming project.
